Hobsons Bay Model Railway Exhibition 2011

Next weekend is the Hobsons Bay Model Railway Exhibition in Melbourne. I will be flying down for the day on Saturday (23rd April) and I hope to see a good show. It will be my first visit to this exhibition. This year the exhibition is on for only two days (Saturday and Sunday) on account of the Easter weekend backing onto Anzac Day on the Monday.

The exhibition details are:

10:00am to 5:00pm (both days)
Collingwood College, Hoddle Street, Collingwood
Entrance via Campbell Street (Melways ref 2C G9)
Epping Line or Hurstbridge train to Collingwood station

I hope to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones as well.

  1. G'day Brad :) The whole point of the Hobson's Bay exhibition is that it is 'Australian only'. Unfortunately you attended during a year when, for whatever reason, there wasn't the breadth of top class Australian layouts that is usually seen at Hobson's Bay. Try again next year! As far as I am concerned, Hobson's Bay is one of the very few exhibitions that I regard as a 'must see' (and that is not just because it is extremely useful to me as AMRM's Production Manager to have so many suppliers in the one spot to interview and photograph new product!) .

  2. James,

Yes, I will try again next year if I get another cheap airfare down to Melbourne. BTW, I did mean to catch up with you down there on Saturday but you were always engrossed talking to people, notebook in hand!

I'll be looking forward to your AMRM News in the next issue to see what you've gleaned from the commercial folk from the Hobsons Bay exhibition!
